My Story

Spread the Love

I am so glad that you are checking out Girls Love Blue Too! I am really excited to share with you all the awesome clothes, toys, books and accessories I have found to inspire your little girls to be themselves. I believe all girls should be free to express themselves through fashion and not be limited to traditional girl themes. There is never anything wrong with girls who want to be princesses and love to wear pink and pastels but they should also have the option to want to be scientists and astronauts and wear blue and primary colors!

Angela’s Story

I am mama to two amazing little girls. LJ is 4 and T will be 2 in the fall. I work part-time as an esthetician (I do skincare and waxing at a spa) and full time as their mom. We have always struggled with money so while I hope this site may be a way to bring in some extra cash, I really just hope to have some fun and to share my thought and research with others. I feel very strongly about girls having access to a well-rounded assortment of toys, clothes, and books that inspire learning and a belief that if they work hard they can be anything they want to be.

My girls are my inspiration for this site. Especially LJ, who is the lover of all things blue! Both of my girls are extremely well rounded in their interests. They love dinosaurs, tools, cars, trucks, their play kitchen, baby dolls, building things, their doctor kit, dressing up as police, firefighters, ballerinas, construction workers, cleaning, space ships, puzzles, drawing, trains, superheroes, jewelry making…the list goes on and on. I love that they are young enough that to them none of these things has anything to do with being a boy or a girl. Gender stereotypes can only limit our children and do not belong in the toy isles. The more children are exposed to things outside of what is traditionally thought to be their own gender interests the more they believe they are not restricted to those things. Boys can be nurturing and girls can love science, they do not need the things that surround them telling them otherwise!

I hope this will be an interactive community for fun and conversation! I can be opinionated but I also love healthy, fun, friendly debate so I welcome all comments as long as everyone can avoid rudeness and mom-shaming. This is a judgment-free zone, seriously. I am someone who can often see both sides. I am a libra and believe fairness and balance are extremely important!!!

The Goal of Girls Love Blue Too

I want to help people with Girls Love Blue Too because I love to research things, I get stuck on an idea and just run with it. I started doing that when I was looking for clothes that LJ would like and just thought that not everyone loves doing this. I thought if sharing all the cool brands and styles of clothes that I found with others could help even a few people it would be a fun way to spend my little bit of free time.

I really enjoy interacting with people but I don’t really want to be the center of attention. I also am not a writer!! However, I love information and sharing my thoughts with people.ย  I want this to be a community that inspires moms and dads to promote all different interests to their girls. I am as happy with my girls being stay at home moms as I am police officers or scientists or computer programmers or doctors or dancers or military. My goal is to arm them with the knowledge that they can be anything they want, they just have to work hard and commit themselves to it!!! If I can promote this idea just a little bit by inspiring people to arm their little girls with clothes that scream fierce, not cute and toys and books that help them become well-rounded teenagers and adults then my site accomplished its goal!

If there is ever any way I can help or if you have any questions, feel free to let me know in the comments below or send me a message and I will be more than happy to get back to you.

All the best,

Angela Teresa

  1. You’ve got a great site, well designed and monetized. It’s common for girls to love yellow, pastel and pink colors. Blue, red and green are colors that boys love. I have 3 granddaughters and they wear blue colored dress. Not only the colors but also the names that are normally given to boys can be given to girls, like Alvin, Charlie or Lloyd. There’s nothing wrong about it.
